Many video game have a regular and a collectors edition.  The collectors edition usually has some crappy extra that you will never actually use.  This is not the case with LittleBigPlanet 2 .  For an extra $20 the collectors edition of Little Big Planet 2 comes with the game, a set of really cool looking book ends, a 7″ Sackboy plushie, and a ton of downloadable content.

This is what a collectors edition should be like!  LittleBigPlanet 2 comes out this November 16th on the PS3.  I already went ahead a pre-ordered it at Amazon.  There are supposed to be limited quantities of this collectors edition, I’m not sure what that really means but I would suggest you pre-ordered it now if you want it.  Amazon doesn’t charge until the item ships, so if you change your mind later or find a better deal it’s easy to cancel the order.

A trailer for DC Universe Online was shown at Comicon this weekend and it looks truly amazing.  I have no intention of getting this game simply because of the monthly fees that come with it, but this trailer sure does get me excited about the game.

Just wanted to pass along a couple of gaming freebies.  First Valve has released Alien Swarm for free.  Alien Swam is a new co-op action game based on the Source Engine.  You will need to already own a Source game such as Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, or Left 4 Dead to be able to play this game. No need to own anything, just have a free Steam account!

DC Universe Online is now accepting beta applications for PC and PS3.  DC Universe Online is a MMORPG based in the DC universe.  At this point I’m not sure if you get to play as DC characters such as Batman and Superman or play with them as NPCs.  I am also not sure how long the beta will run but it is a good chance to try the game for free before it launches.
