Marvel is releasing Hulk Vs. various members of the Marvel universe.  The first DVD will be Hulk Vs. Thor due out in January 2009 and here is the preview.  Looks ok to me for a rental but not worth buying.

Sony has quickly released an update to the PSP’s 5.0 firmware from last week.  The PSP firmware 5.01 is said to correct issues relating to larger capacity PRO Duos. Namely users who own an 8 or 16 GB stick were left with an insufficient space error when downloading content from the PlayStation Store.

Looks like Sony is moving forward with the PSP.  With the new firmware you can access the Playstation Store directly and download content such as games, movies and themes just like on the PS3.  All the new changes look really good!

PSP Firmware 5.00 changes:

• The [PlayStation® Network] category has been added, and [PlayStation® Store] is now available under this category.
• PlayStation® format software can now be output in interlace format on a connected device.
• PlayStation® format software can now be output in full-screen size on a connected device.
• The sleep timer feature can now be used under [Music].
• The system will automatically change to USB mode when a USB cable is connected.
• The [Original] theme has been redesigned.
• A new full-screen keyboard; press [Select] when the OSK is displayed.

Soundss like a good time upgrade the old firmware.  Custom firware based on the official 5.0 should not be that far behind (it never is ;)).

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows comes out on October 21st.  The idea is the alien symbiote that became venom spreads out and takes over New York City.  Other heroes and villains are transformed into other versions of Venom that utilize each ones unique powers.  I’m still not sure why Wolverine is even in the story.  The music doesn’t go with the trailer either :/

So on December 5th another Punisher movie will hit theaters directed by Lexi Alexander and starring Ray Stevenson and Dominic West. So what’s different?  I think they are starting over again.  I believe the last movie starting Thomas Jane exist in this storyline, it’s just ignored and not referenced to.  We will have to wait till December 5th to find out if this one is any good.  Punisher is one of those Marvel character that could become a great movie or an immense flop.  The official site is up at http://www.punishermovie.com/.

If you love the Beastie Boys weird lyrics and funky beats you are going to be surprised by this all instrumental that might be a little weird at first to you.  If you really enjoyed the jazzy funky instrumentals on the Beastie Boy’s albums including and after Check Your Head this album will just click.  Unless you know you are listening to the Beastie Boys, you would never guess it is them playing. This is a real gem to have in your collection as it stands out in comparison to other music availible today.

Apple keeps adding more and more uneeded junk to iTunes such as Bonjour and Apple Mobile Device Support. Remove the bloat from iTunes before you install – via zdnet.com.

New iTunes is out, version 8.01.  Just some minor bug and performance fixes.
